Aubrey Allen Butchers set to sizzle in national BBQ contest Apr10
Q Guild butchers nationwide are set to sizzle in the final of their annual BBQ competition.
All seven regions of the Q Guild, which represents 110 elite butchers from the Scottish Highlands to Cornwall, have staged their respective regional heats.
The champions from each area will now fire up their barbecues and go head to head in six product categories at the national final at the Weber Grill Academy in Oxford, on Tuesday, 29th April, when the kings of the char-grill will be crowned.
We are flying the flag for the Midlands region in the speciality barbecue product category of the national final with a flat iron/harissa boneless shoulder of lamb. This product was created last Spring and proved a best-seller in the shop over the summer months.
We have won numerous Q Guild display and cutting competitions over the years, as well as becoming supreme champion with a stuffed pork tenderloin in the Guild’s annual high profile 2013 Smithfield Awards.
The shop was also awarded at bronze medal at Eurobeef in 2013, one of the meat industry’s leading international competitions and Butcher's Shop of the Year 2012.
The national final is being staged as the 2014 BBQ season gets into full swing, with Q Guild butchers across the nation geared up to supply the full range of summer barbecue products – with a little help from the weather!
